Become a new member of the National Federation of the Blind of New Jersey (NFB of NJ) Central Jersey Chapter and join us in raising expectations and creating opportunities for blind and low vision individuals across Central New Jersey and beyond. By completing this New Member Form, you’re becoming part of a dynamic network of people dedicated to advocacy, education, leadership, and community empowerment. The Central Jersey Chapter serves Middlesex County and surrounding areas, offering connection, resources, and support for those who are blind, have low vision, or wish to advance equality and opportunity for the blind community.
The NFBNJ Central Jersey Chapter provides a welcoming space for individuals who are blind, have low vision, or are allies of the blind community. Our chapter offers valuable networking opportunities, mentorship, and access to resources that foster independence and confidence. Members meet monthly, both via Zoom and in person, on the last Saturday of each month at 10:00 a.m. (except on holiday weekends). Meetings include guest speakers, community updates, and discussions that help members stay informed, inspired, and connected.
The in-person portion of our meetings is held at: New Brunswick Library 60 Livingston Avenue New Brunswick, NJ 08901
For those arriving via NJ Transit AccessLink, the cross street is elton Street, and the location is fully AccessLink accessible. Whether attending virtually or in person, members are welcomed into a supportive environment that values inclusion, respect, and shared growth.
The National Federation of the Blind of New Jersey is a volunteer-driven 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting advocacy, equality, and opportunity for blind people throughout the state. We know that blindness does not define who we are or limit our future. Through collective action and community strength, we demonstrate every day that blind individuals can live independently, contribute fully, and thrive in all areas of life—including education, employment, and civic engagement.
Membership dues are $10 per calendar year, and you may pay for up to two years at a time. Your dues directly support programs, advocacy efforts, public education, and outreach initiatives that empower blind people across New Jersey, including the work of the Central Jersey Chapter. Members also have the opportunity to vote, hold office, and serve in leadership roles, ensuring that your voice actively shapes the direction and priorities of our organization.
If you’ve already paid by check or money order, please complete this form for our records—no additional payment is required for the current calendar year. Dues paid between October and December will automatically be applied to the following calendar year. Please note that refunds will not be issued for mistaken submissions. Membership is limited to New Jersey residents only.
For more information, contact Mac Biggers, Central Jersey Chapter President, at 848-386-9242.
As a member of the National Federation of the Blind and the National Federation of the Blind of New Jersey, I understand that I represent both myself and our greater organization. While I am encouraged to socialize and build friendships, I also recognize that membership provides an opportunity to continue the work of the Federation, learn about important initiatives, and help plan our future.
