The National Federation of the Blind of New Jersey established an at large chapter in the spring of 2009. The purpose is to expand the involvement to members that can not attend chapter meetings due to work and school schedules, no transportation in their area and of the possibility of no chapter near to them.
The at large chapter was established from a workshop held in Baltimore and was attended by several members of the state affiliate. The at large chapter meets monthly via a conference call which is targeted for the last Thursday of each month, pending holidays.
